Foaled in February 17 2009, Dayatthespa, an American horse race was to be initiated in racing three years later and it was here when she won here very first title races among them Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, Appalachian Stakes and the Herecomesthebride Stakes. It was until the following year when she won her last two races and reached her climax. The 2014 year ended for her on high alert after she won the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, the First Lady Stakes and winning the Yaddo Stakes.
In 2011 when she was 2 years, Dayatthespa took to the tracks three times under the ridding of Ramon Dominguez. It was on august 4 when she emerged victors at Saratoga Race Course. This prompted her to book a ticket in the Grade IINatalma Stakes at Woodbine Racecourse in September where she led all through only to lose to Northern Passion in the final furlong and finished second. Her last event of the year was not that good as she finished ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
In the year 2012, she changed her rider and it was Javier Castellano who took charge. This was her favorite year where she scooped five titles from six races as a three year old. Among these included the Sweetest Chant Stakes, the Grade III Herecomesthebride Stakes on March 11, the Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland in April, the Riskaverse Stakes at Saratoga in august and Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes. Her last race was on November 25th during the Grade I Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park Racetrack where she led from the beginning only to stumble after shadow jumping to finish fifth.
Scooping the You Go West Girl Stakes in May 2013 at Belmont Park marked the beginning of the year. She was runners up during the Eatontown Handicap at Monmouth Park on June 29. She scooped the Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga on August 17 and later in October won the Grade I class for the First Lady Stakes at Keeneland. Her last race of the year came at Matriarch Stakes where she finished fourth out of nine participants.
In 2014 as a five year old, Dayatthespa didn’t enter in any race until in the month of august when she took the tracks twice finishing second to Filimbi during the De La Rose Stakes and winning her second title of De La Rose Stakes. On October 4 being ridden by John R. Velazquez, she beat her fellow participants among them Centre Court, Discreet Marq, Better Lucky, Somali Lemonade and Filimbi for the second time at the First Lady Stakes at Keeneland. In the beginning of November, she saw of arch rivals British filly Dank, Stephanie’s Kitten, E. P. Taylor Stakes and Just The Judge, winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas during the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at the Santa Anita Park and emerged victors. It was here when she was reunited with her former rider Castellano.
She was to put on price on November 3 and Stonestreet Farms in Lexington, KY bid highest and bought her for a fee of 2,100,000 and it from here she will be a broodmare and is scheduled to be bred in 2015 to Curlin.
